It's frightening the ease with which the seemingly rational have completely lost their minds on this. This book is particularly fascinating as we see much of the same has happened here in Ireland too.
“I don’t think men can be feminists, but I confess there were times reading this where I felt like donning an Andrea Dworkin T-shirt and going on a rampage.” Love it!
"Feminism is about equality" so obviously men can be feminists.
Feminism was invented and funded by the Rockefellers and other bankers to get women out of the home and paying taxes and to get children away from their mothers and into the state indoctrination camps. So feminism is very much a male invention.
Also feminism relies on the wealth, resources and infrastructure generated by men. It took men 5000 years of backbreaking manual labour in all weathers to create a society which was safe and comfortable enough to give women the opportunity to work outside of the home in a comfortable office environment (equivalent to the average kitchen), with indoor plumbing, central heating, electricity, paved roads, public transport and electric lighting.
Without these comforts and safety nets feminism could not have happened. Feminism is literally a product of men's labour and cooperation (AKA modern post industrial society).
Just as men enabled feminism, it is also true that feminism enabled 'gender ideology'. Feminism has always been about deconstructing the very concept of gender roles, re-defining 'women' to be detached from biology, and generally pushing for a genderless society under the banner of 'equality'.
Feminism pushed the idea of gender as a 'social construct' - with men and women born as 'blank slates' and gender roles only imposed onto them from 'society' (the patriarchy). Feminism insisted that with a genderless upbringing there would be no differences between men and women's inclinations, ambitions, identity, emotional reactions or lifestyle choices.
Feminism has spent a century blaming ever social problem (real or imaginary) on 'gender', which implies the only way to 'fix' society is to eradicate gender - which has always been central to all feminism's programs, policies and social engineering.
Everything feminism has done over the past century has created the current push to de-gender society. So called 'gender ideology' is just the latest wave of feminism.
Every wave of feminism has spawned a group of older feminists who are appalled at the latest wave (the wave their activism helped to bring about). Today is no different.
If TERFs were honest (or had self awareness) they'd realise they are no longer relevant (their movement has effectively left them behind). The majority of feminists (certainly the younger ones) are very much in favour of de-gendering everybody.
The definition of progressive ideologies is that they have no end point. Perpetual revolution is always the name of the game. Feminism was always going to deconstruct gender until everyone was a genderless, sterilised, infertile 'grey' worker drone. That was the aim of the industrialists who came up with the whole movement to begin with. They are all transhumanists. Feminism was how they pushed society to the brink of their transhuman 'utopia'. Artificial wombs are only 20 years away. Already they are being marketed as a liberating technology for women (allowing women to concentrate on their careers). This is just a repeat of the 2nd wave but with today's technology.
IMHO the last thing we need right now is more feminism.
As a Scot I thought we were immune from this sort of collective stupidity which went on under the radar for the most part. We’re pretty outspoken and uncomplicated for the most part. I was sharply brought to attention around 2020/21 when I began to hear of women being harassed for arguing back by hanging sufragette ribbons in strategic places! Then I discovered our SNP admin was going to bring in a Hate Crime Act! Writing to Humza Youssef the Minister in charge got me platitudes but nothing more. Talking at length with Chris Stephens MP at my door was a chance to get it all off my chest but again led nowhere. Interestingly I got a letter from him last week in the light of the forthcoming election but this is the first follow up to our discussion three years ago. By that time I was going on protests in Glasgow and Edinburgh and donating to court cases for those being hounded and cancelled. That is how otherwise vaguely political citizens become both irate and politicised. The book is an excellent summary of all that was and still is to a lesser extent going on.
To whom you are attracted sexually is purely subjective and therefore cannot reasonably be contested by an outside observer. Where you decide to live your life on a spectrum of superficial, stereotypical male to female attributes (and we all do) is also purely subjective and similarly cannot be questioned. However, your biological sex reflects an objective reality which cannot be changed by your subjective personal view and futile attempts to do so can result in serious health impacts to you as well as actual harms to members of the sex you are impersonating (especially women). Finally, others who are grounded in objective reality should never be forced to accept your subjective version of your actual biological sex.
I respectfully disagree. Men can totally be feminists, and aught to be. Being supportive is not enough. Work on being outraged. I think once you achieve outrage, you'll automatically be a feminist.

I nearly responded, but, of course, this is a wind up. Nobody’s as daft as that.

I have ordered two copies…. Can’t wait to read it!!!!
The gendercult wants to trans away the gay. I don't understand how most people can't see this.
Why don't you think men can be feminists? Genuine curiosity 😊
I think it’s a women’s political movement - I think men can be supportive but we can’t be feminists because we’re men.
